How Vin Diesel Achieved a Net Worth of $160 Million

Vin Diesel is one of the most successful actors of this generation and has starred in a large number of high profile films. He was born in New York City in 1967 and his real name is Mark Sinclair. He has a net worth of over $160 million and this total is only set to grow in the coming years. His career is far from over as he is a sought after star. Continued work in the film industry, not just as an actor, could really see his income grow even further. Some of the ways that Vin Diesel earns his money are discussed below.

Acting Career

Vin Diesel has been acting since the 1990s. One of his earliest roles was in Saving Private Ryan which was a very successful film. He was one of the main characters in the film Pitch Black and it was this movie which really bought him to the attention of the public. It was also the first film that his character Riddick featured in. The majority of his roles have been in action movies which are well suited to his bodybuilders physique.

Directing And Producing

As well as starring in movies, he has also worked as a director and producer on several movies. This includes some of the Fast and Furious films which always do very well at the box office. He has been directing for as long as he has been acting but it is not always something that he has been well known for. Many people will watch movies that he has starred in without also realizing that he has done work behind the scenes as well.

Rights For The Character Riddick

He made a cameo appearance in Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift which he normally would have received a large fee for. However, instead of this he negotiated to be given the sole rights to the character of Riddick which he has played in several films. This has given him complete free reign over how the character is used and also makes him the only person that profits from this.

Acting In Franchises

A lot of the movies that he as acted in have been part of a franchise. This opens up more opportunities in terms of earnings because there is always the possibility of another movie to be made as franchises often go above and beyond the normal two or three films that are in a series. It also creates more excitement around the movies and the more the public are aware of them, the more potential there is to make money. Fast and Furious is one of the best known franchises of a generation and this is something that Vin Diesel is immediately recognized as being involved in.

Commercials And Sponsorships

He also earns money in sponsorships from companies and by starring in their commercials. One of the latest series of commercials that he has starred in has been for Dodge vehicles. This was a good choice by the company because many people associate Vin Diesel with driving because of his roles in the Fast and Furious films. Vin Diesel is one of the biggest stars of the moment and so companies will pay a lot of money for him to advertise their products.

He Owns A Video Game Company

Vin Diesel set up his own video game company, Tigon Studios, in 2002. The games that have been produced by this company have all been tied in with movies that he has starred in. This is one example of where owning the rights to Riddick has been profitable for him as the studio has made a series of games based on these films. The company did take a break for a while to try and develop new technology but it has been back up and running since 2013.

He Owns A Record Label

Also closely associated with his video game company is his record label Racetrack Records. Both companies are subsidiaries of One Race Films. The record label mainly signs rap and hip hop artists, and it also has its own recording studio. The artists that are signed to the label have enjoyed a good degree of commercial success which has also added to the money that Vin Diesel has made throughout his career.
