1. It was founded in 2006

Weebly hasn’t been around that long. It’s a name that most people who have a website are familiar with because it frequently shows up in searches and on advertisements. The founders of the company are Chris Fanini, Dan Veltri and David Rusenco. They were students at Penn State who started working on it while they were still attending classes. By 2007, they released their first version of the site that allowed users to cretae their own websites.

It’s great for beginners through intermediate users who want to set up a website, but their drag and drop customization options do have limitations. or example, if you are not familiar with code, then it’s not so easy to change the column width or the background design. If you do understand how to use HTML/CSS editiors then you will be able to do these things.

9. There are other site builders that have better drag and drop customization

Squarespace and Wix are two website builders who offer a more powerful drag and drop customization. While there are pros and cons associated with most website builders out there, we’d be remiss if we didn’t let you know that some sites let you do this easier and with greater options to choose from. The thing about it is that they’re going to charge you more for the service so it’s kind of a trade-off, especially when you’re just getting into website building.

10. Weebly doesn’t offer an ADI option

This is something that more advanced users would be interested in knowing. ADI stands for Artificial Design Intelligence. It’s not something that Weebly offers. Website builders with ADI can design a site for you simply based upon the information that you provide. The other sites that do offer this feature are GoDaddy, which is centered totally around this approach to website building, and Jimdo and Wix have separate ADI products available.

11. Weebly offers no personal restore option

If you’re building your website on Weebly and something goes haywire, Weebly doesn’t offer a way for you to restore the site to a previous point in time. There isn’t a way to back up and restore your website on your own. You’ll need to contact the support team at Weebly for help with these types of issues. This is more time consuming and it can also be frustrating when you’re in a hurry.

12. You can build all the free sites you want

Weebly allows you to create as may sites as you want, even if you’re going with the free services. This is great for people who want to have personal or informational websites. You can also use the free version for as long as you want. Of course you can upgrade to premium at any time, you don’t have to and you won’t get penalized or a nasty email for exceeding the allowed limits of websites because there are no limits. This is a great service and there are many users who appreciate it and set up several sites that feature their interests, hobbies and blogs.

13. Weebly is making new updates to their site

Although Weebly isn’t the most sophisticated website builder out there, it certainly is fun and easy to use. They met their initial objective to provide people with easy and free website building tools, but they realize that as people advance in their confidence, they’re going to want to do more with their website. From August through October of 2018, Weebly made some really cool updates to their service. They now offer social media integration. You can connect your Weebly website to Facebook and you can even interact with your users through the connection.

14. Weebly provides upgraded analytics

Analytics are important for letting the website owner know how many people are visiting their site. These statistics tell you which pages they visit the most, how long they stay on your site, which visitors are new, which are returning visitors and so forth. 18. You can create your own membership club through Weebly

Weebly offers a membership gateway so you can enable it and allow only registered members to access restricted pages on your site. This option gives you full control over who can see what on the website that you build through Weebly. You can even block access to certain pages or grant access privileges to select persons.

19. They take care of all the hosting

Whether you’re using the free or the subscription site services, Weebly takes care of the web hosting for your site. There are not separate fees for web hosting and you don’t need to go to another business to receive the service. The entire hosting process is managed for you by Weebly so you can concentrate on building and improving your website.

20. Weebly offers a mobile version

There are more mobile users accessing the internet than ever before. Some sites feature pages that don’t properly load on mobile devices, but Weebly has made sure that their latest theme designs are made to be automatically mobile responsive. The pages adjust themselves to fit on the touchscreens of mobile viewer’s devices. They do still have a few older themes that are not mobile responsive, but they still work for those accessing the sites with touchscreens.
