What It's Like to Fly Lufthansa Business Class

Have you ever wondered what it's like to fly on business class for Lufthansa Airlines? It might not be as fancy as some air carriers, but it's nothing that should be dismissed, by any means. You have to remember, the whole point of business class in the first place is to get work done. You should have enough room to spread out, not to mention to collaborate with other individuals who might be on the same flight. The business class seating from Lufthansa allows you to do exactly that and more.

Most of the business class seats are set up in such a way that there are two seats on each side, a window seat and an aisle seat, with a rather large console in between them. There's also a center aisle on many of the larger airplanes that are set up in the exact same configuration. There's quite a bit of distance between rows, so you can fold the seats flat and stretch out if you have the time and are motivated to do so. Lufthansa also provides complimentary blankets and pillows for each business class passenger so you can get comfortable while you're working or stretch out for an extended nap, whichever your heart desires.

One of the more interesting features of business class on this particular airline is that the seats swivel. This is a great option because it allows you to direct your seat toward your co-workers if you're collaborating on something as opposed to getting a permanent catch in your neck by constantly turning your head over the course of several hours. It also provides a few more options for those individuals that prefer to stretch out and take a nap with their seat at an angle instead of facing directly forward.

What other types of amenities can you expect to find in business class on Lufthansa? Most of it comes in the form of having more than enough power to get the job done when you're working with electronics. It only stands to reason that people would show up on board ready to work, with laptops in hand. The large consoles between the seats are designed to give you some work space and they also provide a place to plug in your laptop in case you don't have enough battery power to last through the whole flight. If you need to network with other people who aren't on the flight with you, you can use the communication services provided by Lufthansa to connect with them long before you ever get on the ground.

If your workload allows, you might decide to grab a quick lunch while you're on the flight and depending on the length of the flight itself, there are actually several different options to choose from. Of course, you can also choose water, juice or coffee, among other things, in order to make sure that you stay fully alert during the course of your flight so you can get as much work done as possible. It's important to remember that many flights on Lufthansa are extended and can go for several hours, so it's important to get hydrated and stay comfortable.

Once you've decided that you've done enough work for the day, you can kick back and watch the screen in front of you. Lufthansa offers a number of television shows, movies and music choices to keep you entertained. As a matter of fact, there really is something for everyone. If you can't find something that interests you, you might have a hard time finding anything that will hold your attention no matter what you're doing.

Of course, you're bound to be interested in the amount of money that it's likely to cost you to get a ticket for business class on Lufthansa. Remember, airlines base their tickets on the amount of distance that is involved with the flight, so the longer the flight, the more that ticket is going to cost you. That being said, ticket prices for business class on the airline start out at far more reasonable rates than you might expect. Currently, some of the shorter business class flights are selling for about $1,600 per ticket. If you have a longer flight that requires a more expensive ticket, you might try using points or credit card rewards in order to reduce the price.
