Although there are fewer people in Alaska, some of the cities offer all the amenities you would expect to find in the lower 48 states. Larger cities such as Anchorage offers the trappings of city life for those who prefer an urban lifestyle, close to shopping and entertainment options. If your preference is to go off the grid, there are plenty of places you can go to find peace, solitude, and privacy. Many of the schools in Alaska’s public school system have a good rating. Academics are high and there are several options to choose from. If you’re raising a family, this is a plus. There are also options for higher education so you won’t need to leave the state to attend college unless it’s your preference to go out of state.

When you’re looking for a new place to live, it’s important to know that there are work opportunities available. The job market is strong in Alaska. There are many different kinds of job that are open in different areas of the state. The tourism industry is strong and so is the fishing, petroleum as well as many other industries requiring workers, but this depends on which part of Alaska you plan to settle in. Employment may be sketchy in some of the more remote areas, but in general, the economy is thriving and it’s a place where you can earn a good living.

There is plenty to do

Whether you prefer to enjoy a night on the town, catching a concert, seeing a movie, bowling or other fun activities, you’ll find them in the metropolitan parts of Alaska. There are great hiking places in warm weather and also lots of winter activities. Anchorage is the starting point for the famous Iditarod dog sled races. You won’t run out of things to do in Alaska unless you decide to go off the grid and stay there. The people who live in Alaska develop their own culture and it’s a welcoming one where you can find communities of neighbors who have each other’s backs and are willing to help out if the need arises.

While living in Alaska may not be ideal for everyone, the majority of people who move their marvel at the beauty of the country. It’s a diverse and unique state that has a little bit of everything to offer its residents. There are plenty of good reasons to invest in Alaska real estate.
