The Mini

The Mini

Making the list as the tenth worst car brand of 2019 is the Mini. While the new models are based on the BMW system, there are ergonomic problems within the interior that have resulted in way too many complaints from the owners. There is also a lot of noise coming from the drivetrain and the fuel economy is less than stellar.

 Acura

 Acura

The Acura is built by Honda, but evidently that does not come with its same reliability rating. While many Honda consumers continue to give their brand a high satisfaction rating, the same cannot be said of the Acura. The automatic transmission is jerky and some engines tend to stall with regularity. It is the ninth worst car brand of 2019.

Chrysler

Chrysler

This may come as a surprise to many long-time Chrysler owners, but the brand is now the eighth worst on the market today. There are issues with reliability to consider. The minivan, for example, has many issues with the drivetrain. The engine seems to stall far too frequently for comfort, and the transmission is often reported to slip. These are that same technical issues that the brand dealt with a decade ago, so something needs to change.

 Subaru

 Subaru

Subaru vehicles have undergone many design enhancements in recent years, resulting in the winning over of many people around the globe. That being said, there are warning signs that lead the Subaru to be the seventh worst car brand in 2019. One model, the Subie, is often report to jerk and shudder when the driver is cruising down the freeway. There are also frequent difficulty with mechanical failure, and this is never a welcoming sign.

Volkswagen

Volkswagen

Volkswagen may have put many of its legal troubles of a few years ago behind it, but its new models have done little to sway the hearts and minds of long time VW buyers. There are many issues being reported, particularly with the Atlas and Tiguan SUV’s. The most common include issues with stalling unexpectedly, acceleration without notice, and concerns about poor assembly. These all combine to put it square in the sixth place on this list.

 Volvo

 Volvo

While Volvo has long been considered to be one of the safest automobile brands on the market, that does not keep it from becoming the fifth worst car brand in 2019. There are a number of electronic glitches being reported on the newer models. This leads to issues with the instrument display, transmissions that slip without warning, and door locks that simply become inoperable. These issues happen far too often for a brand that is in the luxury end of the car sector.

 Alfa Romeo

 Alfa Romeo

Alfa Romeo is an often sought after automobile brand, but there have been warning signs since Fiat Chrysler purchased it back in 2015. There are a number of mechanical problems that have been reported in the past, causing a lot of warranty work to become necessary. Many road tests have found the sunroof jams in the open position. This could be troublesome when it starts to rain. This is just the beginning, so it is wise to mention that the Alfa Romeo is the fourth worst car brand of 2019.

Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi has been making automobiles since 1917, so you would think that they have it right by now. The latest reports are that this is far from the case, landing it as the third worst brand of 2019. Many Mitsubishi owners continue to complain about shaky transmissions and a variety of other issues that greatly hamper their driving comfort. A recent complaint is that the paint on the doors chip quite easily, and this is never a good thing.

 Land Rover

 Land Rover

Land Rover’s have a reputation of being tough and durable, but that might be where it stops. There are countless problems associated with the newer model. This begins with the electronics that are included in the Land Rover. The instrument panel often fails and the cameras frequently malfunction. In this day and age of everyone have a Bluetooth device, it is further troubling that the connectivity in the Land Rover is spotty at best. The check engine light seems to come on with reason, and this is just a few of the many reasons that Land Rover makes this list.

 Jaguar

Jaguar

While many people long for the day when they own a Jaguar, it is nonetheless situated at the bottom of this list. That makes it the worst car brand of 2019. Both their sedans and coupes have long been reported to be unreliable. This has not really changed over the years. The interior of each Jaguar is lumpy and often made of synthetic leather, which is not something a luxury car owner expects to find.

So, that is the list of the 10 worst car brands of 2019. Which of these surprise you? Which brands did not make the list that you were sure would? This list should help you as you continue you research and go out in search of your next new vehicle. Happy car hunting!
