Falmouth is a town on the north coast of Jamaica in the Trelawny Parish. The town was first founded in 1769 by Thomas Reid and it served as both a port and a market town. It is famous for being one of the best maintained Georgian towns in Jamaica and for its interesting history. While many tourists visit this town because of the fantastic weather or to enjoy the cultural experience of this part of Jamaica, there are also plenty of fun activities to enjoy during a stay there. Martha Brae Rafting Village

If you enjoy being outdoors and love water but also want to relax, then the Martha Brae Rafting Village is the perfect fun activity for you. Visitors get to ride on a raft along a slow-paced river and take in their beautiful surroundings.

Outameni Experience

Falmouth has a rich history but, if the usual trips to museums and walks around landmarks of architectural significance are a little dull for you, then the Outanemi Experience is the perfect alternative. You can learn all about Jamaican history but in a fun way. Costumed actors take you on a tour of village sets and relate stories from Jamaica’s history.

Jamaica Swamp Safari Village

Originally, this attraction was set up as a rescue farm for crocodiles. It then expanded its rescue program and became home to alligators, black leopards, pythons, chimpanzees, and a pair of lions. Now, visitors can enjoy a guided tour around the safari village and admire the wide range of species that live in the village. Some of the more recent additions are Jamaican yellow snakes, parakeets, parrots, anacondas. Capuchin monkeys, iguanas, and the Jamaican coney. The attraction has a restaurant, a bar, and a shop.

Luminous Lagoon Tour

There are just four luminous lagoons in the world and one of them is located in Falmouth. This is an interesting and unusual activity to enjoy in the evenings. Take a trip to the lagoon and you will see that it is mysteriously lit up. This is caused by a creature called the dinoflagellate and there are millions of these living in the lagoon. These creatures produce an eerie glow that illuminates the water and highlights the fish and other creatures in the water below. Visitors can take a boat trip to fully appreciate the beauty of this spectacle.
