With a range of up to 226 miles, the LEAF can take you anywhere you need to go. The battery used on this car is also more efficient than ever, giving you up to 114 MPG in the city. It’s the perfect vehicle for anyone who wants to reduce their environmental impact while still enjoying the convenience and performance of a classic car. The EV is available in five trims: S, SV, S Plus, SV Plus, and SL Plus.

EV Motor, Power, and Performance

The 2022 Nissan LEAF’s electric motor is rated at 160 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque. That’s more than the 100-hp engine in the gas version of the LEAF. The all-new e-Powertrain provides quick acceleration and handling, with a 0-to-60 time of around 7.5 seconds. The Nissan LEAF rides on 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. The battery pack is mounted on the floor, which gives the car a low center of gravity and good handling. The LEAF has 100% torque off the line, so you’ll enjoy great acceleration with this electric vehicle. And there’s no engine noise, thanks to the all-electric drivetrain. According to Nissan, the LEAF offers innovative features to make your drive more accessible, safer, and fun. The e-Pedal lets you accelerate, brake, and stop using just one pedal. The car will automatically slow down when you take your foot off the pedal, so you can quickly stop at intersections or in traffic. The LEAF also has a regenerative braking system, which recaptures energy from braking to recharge the battery. The LEAF’s battery pack is mounted on the floor, which gives the car a low center of gravity and good handling. This helps reduce body roll and makes the car more stable in corners. And because there’s no engine noise, you can enjoy the quiet ride. The Nissan LEAF comes with a Bose Energy Efficient Series that provides Premium Audio. This system provides clear sound and deep bass to enjoy your music while you drive.

Range, Charging & Battery

When it comes to range, the Nissan LEAF has you covered. The standard 40 kWh battery provides up to 147 miles of EPA-rated driving range. The 62 kWh battery offers up to 226 miles of EPA-rated driving range if you need more range. That’s enough to take you anywhere you want to go. Charging your Nissan LEAF is easy, too. You can plug it into a standard 120-V outlet and charge it at home with the included charging cable. Or, you can use a 240-V outlet to charge it more quickly. The 40 kWh battery takes 8 hours to fully charge, while the 62 kWh battery takes 11.5 hours. If you need to charge your LEAF more quickly, you can use a public DC Quick Charger. The 40 kWh battery will reach 80% capacity in just 40 minutes, while the 62 kWh battery will reach 80% in 45 minutes. And with the new 100 kW quick charger, the 62 kWh battery can be charged to 80% in just 60 minutes.

Driver Assist & Safety Technology

The 2022 Nissan Leaf comes with a bevy of driver-assist and safety features to give you a confident and exciting ride. Auto Emergency Braking system with Pedestrian Detection can help avoid or reduce the impact of frontal collisions, and the Rear Auto Braking can help prevent rear collisions or lessen their severity. Nissan says the Rear Cross-Traffic Alert system warns you about cars creeping up on either side, while the Blind Spot Warning system keeps an eye on Nissan LEAF’s blind spot, so you don’t have to. The Lane Departure Warning system will let you know when to change lanes, while the High Beam Assist system automatically switches to low-beam headlights when it gets dark. The Intelligent Trace Control system makes hugging curves a breeze, and the ten standard airbags keep you safe in case of accidents. The LATCH system and Snug Kids® make it easy to install car seats and keep your little ones safe.
