10 Things You Didn't Know about Alexandre Arnault

Some men are simply born into glory, and this is the case when it comes to Alexandre Arnault and his siblings. Even though Alexandre Arnault, his siblings, and his family, in general, are popular, especially in the world of fashion, footwear, drinks, and the overall high life, there are still those that do not know or do not know much, about Alexandre Arnault. This article's raison d'etre is to remedy this, so here are ten things you might not have known about Alexandre Arnault.

1. He is the son of Bernard Arnault

Alexandre Arnault is the son of Benard Arnault. According to Wikipedia, Bernard Arnault is a French investor, art collector, and businessman who gained a majority of his wealth in the fashion industry. Alexandre is the second son of Bernard Arnault and the first in the latter's second marriage. In 1973, Bernard married Anne Dewavrin, with whom he had two children with, Antoine and Delphine. In 1990, the couple split up, and a year later, Bernard married the famous Canadian concert pianist Hélène Mercier, with whom he has three children; Alexandre, Frederic, and Jean. The couple lives together in Paris.

2. He has a degree in Science

From 2013 to 2015, Alexandre Arnault attended the Telecom ParisTech, where he undertook a Bachelor's degree in Science, Information Technology. The course itself, in France, is called Bachelor of Science, Ingenierie Informatique.

3. He has a Master’s degree

After graduating from the school with his bachelor's degree, he went on to enroll at the Ecole Polytechnique, where he pursued, and eventually got, a Master's degree in Science, majoring in innovation.

4. He was a business analyst

For five months, from May 2014 to September 2014, Alexandre Arnault, while still in college, was a summer business analyst for McKinsey and Company. His main role was facilitating the collections operations improvement for the company. He also worked under the Chief Strategy Officer of the company to do so. He was also amongst a committee that interviewed over thirty external and internal senior experts in an endeavor to determine the productivity challenges within the call centers of the institution. Moreover, he created an operations playbook that shaped the twelve-month enterprise-wise training program for the facility. The program was adopted by a client, and it leads to more than 50 million dollars on annual P&L.

5. Working for KKR and Company L.P

The following year's summer, from May to September of 2015, Alexandre Arnault worked as a summer analyst for KKR and Company L.P. One of his main agendas in the firm was to start a growth equity investment initiative, one that focused on Business to Business companies that have encountered strong barriers to entry. While at the firm, he was also part of a team that was successful in leading a 45-million-dollar investment for a well-known technological company. He was involved in the due diligence of the process at every level.

6. He was an investment manager for LVMH

From September 2015 to December 2016, for one year and four months, Alexandre Arnault was an investment manager at LVMH, one of the leading luxury brands in the world. The company is owned by his father.

While at the firm, he led an eight hundred million euros acquisition of RIMOWA, which is a firm that specializes in high-quality luggage, bags, and suitcases. Alexandre Arnault was part of the acquisition team, from the first meetings all the way till the transaction was completed. He was also heavily involved in the strategic digital acceleration of the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, commonly known as the LVHM Group, in its entirety, and it was a process that took quite some time.

He was also part of a team that led LVHM to invest in a myriad of technology companies based in the UK, US, Europe, and Israel. These investments have, in hindsight, proven to be very prudent acquisitions, so much so that Alexandre Arnault has assumed the position of board member in two of the companies.

7. He was the CEO of RIMOWA

As mentioned before, when Alexandre Arnault was an investment manager at LVMH, he was part of a team that oversaw the acquisition of the luxury bags manufacturer RIMOWA. RIMOWA, before its acquisition, was doing pretty well and was very profitable, but the new parent company LVHM wanted to increase its size and profitability.

Thus, for specifically this reason, Alexandre Arnault, in October of 2016, was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of RIMOWA, a position he held for four years and three months, until December of 2020. During his tenure, the company blossomed to become one of the many gems that decorate the LVHM Crown.

8. He was the executive vice president of Tiffany and Company

According to Business Insider, Alexandre is currently an executive vice president of Tiffany and Company. After his tenure as the CEO of RIMOWA, Alexandre Arnault was appointed the Executive Vice President, in charge of Products and Communication, for the brand Tiffany and Co. He was appointed in January of 2021, and as of July 2021, he continues to hold this position in the company.

9. Personal life

On July the 10th, 2021, according to Honey Nine, Alexendre Arnault wedded long time fiancée Géraldine Guyot. Géraldine Guyot is the creator of D'Estrëe, which is a brand that offers a wide range of accessories that are inspired by modern art. The couple had known each other for a long time, and were actually childhood friends, but began dating in 2019.

The wedding was attended by people with some of the biggest names not only in fashion but also in music and art. The guests of the wedding included Naomi Campbell, American Businesswoman, and socialite Lauren Santo Domingo, singer and rapper Pharrell Williams, and the electronic DJ David Guetta. The bride wore a simple yet elegant gown that was designed by Jonathan W. Anderson, the British designer. It had a high collar, puffed shoulders, long sleeves, and floral embroidery.

10. He is the brother-in-law to Xavier Niel.

Xavier Niel is a French billionaire who amassed his fortune through the telecommunications and technology industry. He is best known as the founder and majority shareholder of Iliad, France's third-largest mobile operator. Xavier is married to Alexandre's step-sister, Delphine Arnault.
