Butcher and Singer Philly

If you live in Philadelphia or you are visiting the area and you fancy a steak, then you are in luck. This city has an abundance of excellent steakhouses from which to choose. The problem is deciding which one of them is worthy of a visit. One steakhouse that is widely considered amongst the best is Butcher and Singer. Here is an overview of what this steakhouse has to offer and why Butcher and Singer is one of the finest steakhouses in Philadelphia.

The Restaurant

Butcher and Singer is described as a homage to the glitz and class of 1940s Hollywood. The restaurant takes the nest features of that era combined with a modern twist to create a welcoming yet special dining environment. They also boast of unparalleled customer service, saying that guests can expect a warm welcome and personalized service. The staff is available to help with menu choices and to make your visit as enjoyable as possible, This combination of pleasant surroundings, a great ambiance, and good customer service make this a venue worth considering before you even take the food and drink into consideration. Of course, the dining experience means nothing at all if a restaurant does not offer good quality food and drink that is worth the price you pay. Therefore, it is important to consider the food and drink offerings at this restaurant, including the quality of the ingredients and preparation.mThis restaurant has a raw bar that serves fresh seafood in a variety of ways. The highlight of the raw bar is the shellfish platter, and there are small or large platters available. On the appetizer menu are many options that are typical of steakhouses, such as onion soup, escargots, steak tartare, and crab cakes.

The Menu

In most instances, people who dine at Butcher and Singer will choose an entrée from the steak and chops section of the dinner menu. The cuts of steak available include New York strip, filet mignon with or without the bone, Delmonico, porterhouse for one or two people, and a 50-ounce tomahawk ribeye that is large enough to feed at least four diners. Also from this section of the menu is lamb or veal chop. There is the option to top anything off the steak and chops menu with either asparagus, bearnaise, or jumbo lump crab for a little extra. Waiters ask diners how they would like their steak or chops cooking, and they are then cooked to perfection with char on the outside while remaining tender inside. There are additional entrée options available for those who do not fancy a steak. These include roasted chicken, veal piccata, surf & turf, and several fish and seafood options. Diners can choose from a selection of potato and vegetable side dishes to accompany their meal.

The lunch menu is an abbreviated version of the dinner menu, with fewer offerings on the appetizers list and the steak or chops options. However, they do have some sandwiches and entrees that are specific to the lunch menu for those who want a lighter lunch. These options include Butcher burger, ribeye steak sandwich, chicken Milanese, and pan-roasted king salmon. The portions are generous, so you might decide to call it a day once you have eaten your appetizer and main course. However, if you have enough room and you have a sweet tooth, then you may wish to try one of the desserts. The dessert menu consists predominantly of typical dishes you would find on most steakhouse menus, such as sundaes, New York cheesecake, chocolate fudge cake, and key lime pie.

Almost as impressive as the varied food choices are the drinks lists. The wine list is extensive and includes a diverse choice of red, white, rose, and sparkling wines, so you should easily find something that compliments your meal perfectly. However, it is the cocktail list that really makes this steakhouse stand out from the competition. There is a fantastic list of cocktails that add elements of both fun and glamor to dining out in this restaurant. The price is an important consideration for many people, and the amount you will pay at this restaurant depends largely on what you order. In most cases, you can easily eat a three-course meal and a bottle of wine for between $100 and $120 per person. However, if you choose some of the pricier options, such as a seafood platter from the raw bar and porterhouse steak, then you may pay in excess of $150 per person. While this may seem a little expensive, the price is justified by the quality of the food and the overall dining experience. The Infatuation cheekily jokes in their review that it is a great place to dine when someone else I picking up the tab.
