David likes to read some psychology and social science books as well as listening to classical music. He has a vast knowledge of the world's religions, literature, languages. He also likes to work on puzzles or do word games by himself. In his spare time, David likes to watch movies or TV series in his home theater room that seats 12 people. He owns over 400 DVDs! David Steinberg's most recent venture, GEMZ, has been in the news lately. This company wants to help people with disabilities and their families. They developed a mobile app that uses artificial intelligence. It can speak for people who cannot talk. The company also makes jewelry that can make it easier for people with disabilities. David left in 2014, but he is still on the board and is the Emeritus Chair. The CEO transition happened when Dr. Dennis Charney, who was the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost at the University of Pennsylvania, finished his time. David Steinberg was appointed as Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Provost, and Dean. David has worked in medical school settings before.
