What Do You Drink Disaronno With?


Disaronno is a unique type of Amaretto (Italian liqueur). It is amber in color and tastes similar to almonds, but it is not made from almonds. The liqueur is produced in Saronno City, mainly known for manufacturing amaretto. Disaronno has an alcohol content of about 28%, and it is one of the best-selling amaretto liqueur in the world. According to the company which produces the liqueur, Disaronno is an infusion of burnt sugar, pure essence made from seventeen carefully chosen fruits and herbs, and apricot kernel oil with some alcohol. The drink is packaged in sophisticated oblong, designer glass. Disaronno has a mouthwatering taste when mixed with apple juice or a blend of lemonade. It can also be used as a cocktail ingredient. Some of the recipes include:

1. Disaronno Jazzy Hour

It is a combination of finely fused flavors. It is a fusion of Disaronno, tangerine liqueur, fresh lemon, pineapple juice, and vodka. It is a perfect combo for any occasion. The blend should include the following;

  • 1 part vodka
  • 1 part blended pineapple juice
  • ½ part tangerine liqueur
  • Slice of lemon

Mix the above ingredients and strain the drink into a cocktail glass. You can garnish with either an orange or lemon slice. It has a warm sweet taste, considered a strong drink.

2. Disaronno Passion Fruit Sour

This mouthwatering flavor is made from a fusion of Jamaican rum, passion fruit liqueur, pineapple juice, lemon juice, Disaronno, and Angostura. To get the perfect cocktail, combine the ingredients in the following proportions.

  • 45 ml Disaronno
  • 15 ml Jamaican rum
  • 10ml passion fruit liqueur
  • 30 ml pineapple juice
  • 15 ml coconut cream (optional)
  • 5 oz. lime juice

Pour all the ingredients into a martini cocktail glass. Add some ice cubes. You can also garnish with a fruit of your choice. It is a strong alcoholic drink with a sweet taste.

3. Disaronno Mule

You can never go wrong with this drink. Disaronno mule is a classic blend of Moscow mules with added ginger beer, lime juice, and Disaronno as the main ingredient.

  • Ginger beer (amount will depend on your taste)
  • Slice of ginger and lemon
  • 20 ml fresh lime juice
  • 40 ml Disaronno

Pour the 40 ml Disaronno into a cocktail glass and mix with the fresh lime juice. Add the ginger beer and some ice cubes. Garnish with either the ginger or lemon. Ginger ale is also an excellent substitute for ginger beer if you want your drink to be less spicy. Suppose you consider using ginger ale to substitute fresh lime juice with apple juice.

4. Disaronno apple pie

It is considered one of the best cocktail party pleasers. The drink is made from mixing apple juice, Disaronno, and some cinnamon sprinkles.

  • 3-4 apple slices
  • 45 ml Disaronno
  • 85 ml fresh juice
  • 10 ml lime juice
  • Lime wedge
  • Glazed cherry

In a long tumbler glass Mix Disaronno, ice, and juice. Add the apple juice and stir. For garnishing, sprinkle cinnamon on slices of apple topped with the glazed cherry. If you don’t have fresh apple juice, you can use misty apple juice instead, provided it is of premium quality.

5. Disaronno Sour

When life gives you oranges and lemons, make a Disaronno sour cocktail. It is one of the classic cocktails that originated in the United States in 1970. No one knows who invented it, but Disaronno sour is regarded as one of the favorite amaretto flavored drinks. Most people consider it a fantastic drink. It requires a few ingredients which go a long way to fulfill a delightful taste. The star of this cocktail is amaretto. In this recipe, the tart taste of the lemon juice accents amaretto’s sweet nuttiness.

  • 3 Cherries for garnishing
  • 1 part Maraschino
  • One egg white (Optional)
  • 10 ml sweet sugar syrup
  • 20 ml fresh lemon juice
  • 60 ml Disaronno liqueur

Dry shake all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker without adding the ice. After attaining a perfect blend, add some ice cubes and shake again. You can pour in a tumbler or cocktail glass and garnish with cherries.

6. Italian Espresso Martini

Espresso Martini is one of the fantastic cocktails. Adding Disaronno gives it a little bit sweeter with a subtle taste. The amaretti biscuits are a game-changer to the standard espresso martini. You will need vodka, café liqueur, Disaronno, and espresso for this cocktail.

  • 50 ml vodka
  • 15 ml café liqueur
  • 30 ml Disaronno
  • 50 ml espresso

Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice cubes. Hard shake for about 10-12 seconds and strain into a martini or coupe glass. Sprinkle crushed amaretti biscuits on top to garnish. It looks incredible with an inviting coffee smell.

7. Disaronno Cranberry Chiller

Cranberries are a perfect blend of Disaronno cocktails. For this cocktail, you will need oranges, orange juice, vodka, cranberry juice, ice cubes, cranberry juice, and Disaronno.

  • 10 ml vodka
  • 20 ml cranberry juice
  • ½ amaretto
  • Ice cubes
  • 25 ml fresh orange juice
  • Superfine sugar

Dip your tumbler in the superfine sugar, and then place an orange slice on the glass rim. Mix the other ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake for about 10-20 seconds. Add the ice cubes and shake for another 5 seconds. Pour the mixture into a glass and garnish it with an orange.

8. Disaronno Milkshake

If you are a lover of milkshakes, this classic blend is just for you. You will need milk, vanilla ice cream, crushed ice cubes, and Disaronno. Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until it is smooth. Pour the blend into a milkshake glass and enjoy. You can use any ice cream flavor of your choice.
