10 Benefits of Having The US Bank Radisson Rewards Visa Signature Credit Card

Club Carlson Credit Card

If you prefer your hotels to be on the luxurious side and are looking for a travel card that will help support your habit, the US Bank Radisson (Formerly Club Carlson) Rewards Visa Signature Credit Card may be just what you’ve been searching for. In March 2018, the Club Carlson rewards program was discontinued and rebranded as Radisson. Those already familiar with the Club Carlson range of benefits will be pleased to know that little (other than the name) has changed. For just $75 per year in annual fees (a positive bargain compared to the premium some providers place on card ownership), you’ll qualify for some generous discounts and rewards on your hotel stays, along with a whole heap of other helpful treats. To find out more about the benefits of this great card, keep reading.

1. A Generous Sign Up Bonus

Once you’ve signed your name to the dotted line and made your first purchase, you’ll be on your way to earning one of the most generous sign-up bonuses available on any travel card. Provided you spend a combined total of $3,000 on your card within the first 90 days of account opening, you’ll get a whopping 120,000 bonus points for your trouble. As Radisson notes, this will be enough to get you up to 11 free award nights at more than 1,100 hotels across the globe, including the Radisson Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson.

2. Anniversary Bonus

One of the best perks of the Radisson Rewards Premier Visa Signature Card is its anniversary award scheme. For each year you renew the card and hand over the $75 annual fee, you’ll receive a bonus reward of 40,000 points. With Radisson rewards equating to 0.6 cents per reward, those $40,000 points equate to a hefty $240- $165 more than the comparatively insignificant $75 you need to hand over in annual fees to qualify.

3. Ongoing Rewards

The bonus might be sizable, but the benefits of owning a Radisson Rewards Premier Visa Signature Card don’t stop at sign up. Depending on how you use your card, you could be racking up rewards on a daily basis. For every dollar you spend at participating Radisson hotels worldwide, you’ll earn 10 dollars. For all other eligible purchases, you’ll earn 5 points per dollar. If you use your card for the bulk of your purchasing or are a frequent guest at Radisson hotels, the generous rewards scheme will soon start adding up.

4. Two Nights for the Price of One

If you’re a frequent visitor to Radisson hotels, you’re going to appreciate the next benefit on our list. If you elect to redeem your reward points for two or more consecutive nights at any Radisson property worldwide, you’ll get your last night for free. This effectively means you’ll 2 nights for the price of 1 (or 3 for the price of 2, 3 for the price of 4, etc., etc..,). What’s more, use your Radisson Rewards Premier Visa Signature Card to pay for the booking, and you’ll get to earn more points even as you’re saving.

5. Gold Status Privileges

As the proud owner of a Radisson Rewards Premier Visa Signature Card, you’ll qualify for automatic gold member status. This will get you a neat set of privileges such as room upgrades (perfect for those looking to sample the high life), early check-in/ late checks out (particularly ideal for busy business people), and an in-room welcome gift, among other things. Granted, none of these things are likely to make or break your decision to get the card, but they’re very nice sweeteners, none-the-less.

6. Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver

If you’re tired of paying over the odds for car rental insurance, you can finally say goodbye to over the counter fees thanks to the Radisson Rewards Premier Visa Signature Card. Charge your entire rental fee to your card and under the terms of your agreement, Radisson will provide theft and collision damage cover. What’s more, if you’ve added additional drivers to the rental agreement, Radisson will make sure they’re also covered under the insurance policy.

7. Lost Luggage Reimbursement

One of the biggest fears of any frequent flyer’s life is the thought of an airline losing, mislaying, or causing some serious bodily harm to their luggage. While Radisson can’t stop the worse from happening, they can (and do) mitigate against the worst of its effects with their Lost Luggage Reimbursement policy.

8. No Foreign Transaction Fees

While it may be great for everyday purchases (remember all those reward points), the Radisson Rewards Premier Visa Signature Card is essentially a travel card. As such, you’d expect the focus of its benefits to be on rewarding its customers with travel perks. We’ve already seen how it does this with hotel stays, but another valuable, and a sometimes underrated, perk of the card is its policy of not charging for foreign transaction fees. Given that some providers charge anything from 3-5% for foreign cash withdrawals, this is the kind of benefit that may not initially seem a deal-breaker, but over time, it can quietly prove itself to be one of the most rewarding.

9. Protection against Fraud

These days, fraud is on the rise and no matter how many preventive measures and safeguards we put in place, those crafty con- artists somehow find a way around them. Fortunately, Radisson is all too aware of the problem and are doing as much as possible to mitigate the impact of fraudulent and unauthorized spending on their customers. If you become the victim of credit card fraud, contact the good folk on the number at the back of your card, and under the terms of Radisson’s Zero Fraud Liability Protection policy, they’ll take care of the rest.

10. No Preset Spending Limit

If you make frequent big withdrawals or equally sizable purchases, you’ll know how inconvenient pre-set spending limits can be. Fortunately, Radisson doesn’t apply any preset limit to its Premier Visa Signature card. Of course, this doesn’t mean you can exceed your limit- if you do, be sure Radisson will ask for repayment with your next regular order. It does, however, remove a common complaint and everyday-hassle you’ll sometimes get with other providers.
