10 Benefits of Having a Williams Sonoma Credit Card

If you do a lot of shopping at high-end home goods retailer Williams-Sonoma, it might benefit you to get one of their credit cards. That way, you can use the card to pay for your purchases at the retailer and you get a lot of other benefits to boot. In fact, there are quite a few advantages to having this particular card. If you want to learn more about it, you can read about 10 of those advantages that are listed below. By the time you’re through reading, you might decide to apply for the card yourself but if you do, make sure you already have a good credit rating, as this particular credit card is designed for people with good credit.

1. There is no annual fee

This is always a benefit for any credit card. Some of the better ones don’t charge annual fees and then there are the others that charge astronomical fees on an annual basis. It’s important to remember that this is a credit card for a particular retailer, so it’s not all that uncommon that an annual fee doesn’t come with the package. With that being said, it’s still a major advantage.

2. You can get cash advances using the card

This is a little bit different for a retail credit card, but you can get cash advances on it just like you would with a regular credit card. If you find yourself short on cash and this is the only card you have available, you’re in luck. The fees for doing so relatively low, too. All you’ll have to pay is 5% or $10, whichever is greater.

3. You can transfer balances

You can also transfer other card balances to this one in order to get a better interest rate. The company allows you to do this for just $5 or a rate of 3% of the transfer, whichever turns out to be more. All in all, that’s not a bad deal no matter how you look at it.

4. The interest rate is relatively low

Depending on exactly what they find in your credit report, expect to pay anywhere from just over 18% to just under 25%. More than likely, you’ll fall somewhere in the middle. Either way, this is one of the better interest rates for these types of cards.

5. You get a bonus for signing up

When you sign up for your card, the company will mail you a $20 gift certificate that can be used at their store. That in and of itself is enough to make most people decide to get the card in the first place.

6. The company has a comprehensive rewards program

Whenever you shop at Williams-Sonoma and you use the card, you get five points in rewards. If you eat at a restaurant and use the card, you get two points and you get one point for every other purchase made at another location. Every time you reach 25 points, you get a $25 certificate that you can use to shop at Williams-Sonoma’s stores.

7. Shop the same day you open the card and get a surprise

If you shop at the same time you open your account, you’ll get 20% off on your entire purchase. That might not sound like a lot at first, but it’s almost a full quarter of your purchase so it’s worth checking out.

8. They remember your birthday

You also get a $25 gift certificate to any of their retail outlets the month you were born. That’s a better-than-average birthday gift, and it’s something you’re not likely to find at most other stores.

9. You’ll never have to pay for shipping

You don’t actually have to visit one of the stores in order to make a purchase. After all, it is the electronic age. The good news is that if you buy from one of their stores online, you never have to pay for shipping if you’re a card holder.

10. It’s a great way to get housewares while maintaining your budget

Buying stuff for the home can be expensive. This gives you the chance to buy the things you want and then pay for them over time as opposed to being forced to pay for them in full right then and there. When you couple that fact with all of the rewards that you get with this card, there’s no reason not to use it.
