Lorenzo is happy to be compared to the greats. But, like any true icon, is always looking for ways to better his craft. He’s not settling for a couple of basketball-inspired silhouettes either. The Nike Air Fear of God 180 is almost here

The 180 looks a lot like its sister shoe, The Moccasin, but there are some differences. For instance, the 180 has criss-cross straps that go across the top of the shoe and a mid-cut cuff as well. Furthermore, just like the other shoes in the FOG collection, the 180 will be released with a plain black and a light bone colorway. Admittedly, the name and some of the design of this shoe is reminiscent of the Air Force 180, Charles Barkley’s classic Nike sneakers. But, the Fear of God 180’s particular silhouette borrows inspiration from another pair of old-school Nike basketball shoes, the 1992 Air Raid. For instance, the 180 features both the mid/high-cut and cross straps of the Air Raid. What sets it apart, however, are the changes to the design. The 180 has premium features like a buttery soft light bone leather/mesh upper which is perfectly contrasted by a black pebbled leather Swoosh. The overall look is pulled together with the highest stack heel that’s common to Lorenzo’s other designs.

There’s a clothing line too

Ever since they released the black Fear of God One in December of last year, the sneaker-loving community has been abuzz. And Nike and Lorenzo are doing nothing but whipping the frenzy to an even higher pitch. It will culminate with the release of their long teased co-branded apparel collection. The new Fear of God apparel line combines Nike’s love of versatile design and technical fabrics with Lorenzo’s keen eye for blending street and high fashion styles. As a result, the collection is part sportswear, part high fashion, and entirely unique. The best thing of all is the selection. Consisting of everything from a half-zip jacket to a shimmering silver parka, to reversible shorts to tear away warm-up pants and lots more, the collection is filled with signature Fear of God aesthetics. Think slouchy fits, toggles, and extended drawstrings.

With all the anticipation, Nike and Lorenzo are doing a good job at dangling the sneaker-shaped carrot in front of our faces. As of right now, there’s no word on a release dates or prices for the Nike Air Fear of God 180.
