10 Things You Didn't Know About Abraham Shafi

Abraham Shafi is the CEO and founder of IRL, which is short for "In Real Life." Shafi is also a business owner and an active part of the crypto space. He's also active on social media, creating content for his 2.2 million followers on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The firm is based in New York City and was founded in 2015. It's an online platform that connects people in real life (IRL) with like-minded friends. IRL is a social media company that allows users to find friends with common interests. It's similar to other social media sites, such as Facebook or Tinder, but for everything that happens in real life. If you've spent any time on the internet, you've probably come across IRL. It's a small social media brand that's experienced a lot of growth in the past few months. Here are 10 things you may not know about Abraham Shafi, the founder, and CEO of IRL.

10. He's a former hedge fund manager

According to medium.com, before he was an entrepreneur and business owner, Abraham Shafi was a hedge fund manager. He's not just running any regular old hedge fund, either. At one point in his career, he was leading the global macro division at a major investment bank. How does someone with that background become an entrepreneur? It all started when Shafi had a difficult time finding friends who shared similar interests. He found himself always going to large groups of people in order to find friends with common interests. This was when he realized there needed to be a better way to connect people with like-minded interests, IRL. During this time, Shafi also noticed how much time and effort people were putting into Facebook and other social media sites but still felt lonely or isolated. This led him to create IRL - a way for people to meet up in real life instead of online or through social media posts.

9. He's a computer engineer

Abraham Shafi is a computer engineer. He studied at the University of Michigan and graduated with a degree in computer engineering.

8. He has dyslexia

Shafi was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was a student at the elite Collegiate School in Manhattan. He felt like he never fit in but found success in the business world and continued to find an inner drive to succeed.

7. He was a contestant on the CBS show "Undercover Boss"

In 2012, Abraham Shafi was a contestant on the CBS show "Undercover Boss." At the time, he was a Senior Manager at J.P. Morgan Chase in New York City. He joined the top executives of different companies and went undercover to experience what their employees go through. He learned that many people were willing to work long hours for little pay because they wanted to make a difference or they felt like they owed it to their company. He also learned how difficult it is for some people to find work and how hard it can be when you just can't seem to catch a break you need, such as when your job falls through after years of trying to get an honest paycheck. One thing that stuck with him from this experience was that many big companies are taking advantage of their lower-income workers by underpaying them and overworking them. These conditions lead to stress and poor mental health among workers, which have a huge impact on their daily lives outside of work as well.

6. He launched his own startup at the age of 24

Abraham Shafi is a successful entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of IRL. He first launched his own startup when he was 24 years old, which is impressive for someone that young. He had to leave his job at Google in order to make it work. The company was just founded in 2015, not long before he quit his job at Google to focus on it full-time. But we think it's worth it, given how successful the company has been so far.

5. He's a huge sports fan

Abraham Shafi is a huge sports fan. As an avid football player and tennis player, he's always been interested in the social aspect of sports. He was also a coach until he decided to leave to focus on IRL full-time.

4. He has 8 children

Abraham Shafi is the father of six biological children and two adopted children. One of his six biological children, Jain, was born with a disability that makes him unable to speak, and he also has a daughter who is currently serving in the U.S. Army. Shafi's first-born son, Matan, is 19 years old and lives with autism. He's also the youngest of Shafi's nine children. His oldest son, Adam, is 24 and serves as IRL's Chief Operating Officer (COO). Shafi's favorite line from one of Adam's speeches reads "we are all human beings."

3. He's an avid traveler

He's an avid traveler and has visited more than 34 countries. He also studied computer science and psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park. He's fluent in English and Arabic. He was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and moved to the U.S. when he was just 6 years old. He attended high school in Boston before moving to New York City, where he currently lives, works and plays. Shafi is a TEDx speaker who talks about how technology is changing our world for the better.

2. He has a younger brother and sister

Abraham Shafi is the oldest of four children. He has a brother and sister that are both younger than him, and he also has a little sister who is the youngest in the family. He's not alone in his journey to success. His family was very supportive when it came to his goals, and they encouraged him every step of the way.

1. And he's Indian-American

Shafi is an Indian-American, and he studied biomedical engineering at Purdue University. He also has a degree in computer science from New York's Stony Brook University. The business world is an often times lonely place. With so many people striving for the same thing, it can be hard to find your place and make a name for yourself. But it doesn't have to be that way. And as you can see from Abraham Shafi's story, anything is possible. Shafi has overcome dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD to become a hedge fund manager and founder of his own startup. He's out there, sharing his story and helping others to find their place in the world. You can do the same thing. Keep your head up and keep going. You'll get there.
