If you're going to be in the market for a brand spanking new car in 2020, but you don't want to spend much on it, then you're going to be in luck. Many new models are coming out next year that have ridiculously low price tags. Be prepared for the good and the bad news though. While there are some good inexpensive cars, you often have to go with the base model of the bottom of the line models if saving cash is your overriding goal. Here are the 20 cheapest cars for 2020 for your consideration.

20. 2020 Chevrolet Cruz - $22,190

There were rumors that Chevrolet was going to cease production of the Chevrolet Cruze, but instead of discontinuing the line, they're giving it a redesign. What we've heard so far is that it's going come out with some new color choices. It's going to come out with a 1.4-liter turbocharged Inline-4 engine that generates 153 horsepower with room for 5 passengers. On the interior, it will be equipped with Android Auto, Apple Carplay, automatic climate controls, Bluetooth audio, driver assistance, blindspot monitoring and more. Heated mirrors, seats adn steering wheel are premium features along with in-vehicle Wifi, keyless ignition, and entry, a leather steering wheel, power adjust seats, park assist, rear backup camera, remote start, satellite radio, premium sound system, a sunroof and more, which justifies the higher price tag.

19. 2020 Honda Civic - $21,650

The upcoming Honda Civic is going to sport a cool compact configuration with a starting price of $21,650 for the LX edition, $22,750 for the Sport Manual and $23,55 for the Sport CVT edition. You'll also enjoy the savings at the pump with a fuel efficiency of up to 31 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway. The base engine cranks 174 horsepower but for a little more, can be upgraded up to 190 horses.

While the GLI trim will give you more power than the basic, it also comes with a higher price tag and we're all about finding the lowest-priced cars for 2020.

This is scheduled to be the last year for the production of this model so if you want to be a proud owner, then you'd better act fast. There are rumors that this model is going to come out with some new features, but they're tight-lipped about what those will be. At any rate, it's one of Volkswagen's basic vehicles so don't expect a lot of frills.

It's powered by a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine with 139 horsepower and if you don't mind paying a little more you can upgrade that to a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder for 169 horsepower.

The 2020 edition of the Nissan Sentra in its base model may reflect a few changes including a redesign of the dash topper and interior alterations to make the cabin feel a bit wider. Changes to the touchscreen along with flat-bottom steering are also expected. It's believed that they're going to replace the old 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine with something a little bigger, and it will likely be a 2.0-liter that cranks 141 horsepower. It will also come with the standard safety and driver assistance package.

Although there's not a ton of press about what is soon to come, we've heard rumors that it's going to feature a redesign, but bear in mind that it's also going to look a lot like many of the other hatchbacks out there.

All versions of the model come with Nissan Intelligent Mobility for connectivity and there are plenty of options to choose from for an additional cost.

The cargo volume is 24.2 cubic feet. It offers plenty of power with its 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine and an available 2.0-liter 4-cylinder for a higher price.

You get a 2nd-row magic seat, available Honda Sensing, an Eco-Assist system, Bluetooth link and streaming audio, a USB audio interface, and a multi-angle rear view camera.

Just be prepared for slow acceleration and the handling on the highway isn't going to be great. It's a very base model and if you enjoy a no-frills minimalist ride, then you won't be disappointed.

The engine is a 1.4-liter inline 4 and the horsepower is low at only 98. It comes standard with a 5-speed manual transmission. It's best for use in city driving and it comes at one of the most affordable prices you'll find for the basic no-frills edition.
